# Enforced checks on Weblate

While updating a translation, I ran into a Weblate [issue](https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/issues/15516) which I reported to the Weblate team.
In short, when the “consecutive duplicated words” check is enforced, I am unable to submit a correct translation on a specific string, as the check ignores the presence of a placeholder.
According to the Weblate team this is not trivial to fix, so I convey here their suggestion to tweak our Weblate settings:
> As for the enforced checks, I recommend using that only for critical errors such as missing format strings, not for style errors, which still might want to be overridden by translators.

I have set a couple of checks to enforced a while ago because translators kept ignoring the checks and just committed broken texts (double space, etc)

Hmm. Michal does make a good point though:

I think we can either make this specific check not-enforced, or remove this check from this specific string.
I think I would make it not-enforced, because a double word is much more noticeable (and thus more likely to be corrected) than a double space, missing exclamation mark, etc.

Hmm, let’s make this one optional then. Still not 100% happy with it because there was a ton of failing checks a while ago. In my experience, if people can skip a warning, they just skip it without reading what it says.

Ok, duplicate consecutive word check is no longer enforced in the app component.
