Finally reporting a long-term MAJOR audio glitch bug

App version: Android version: 16 OS version: 6.1.145

AntennaPod version: 3.11.3

Model: Pixel 9a

Manufacturer: Google

Expected behaviour: audio should play faster or slower per the ± speed you select

Current behaviour: play stops and outputs glitch tone

First occurred: a bug for about the last couple years from what I can recall. Had this issue on my Pixel 6a and now Pixel 9a.

Steps to reproduce

Play any podcast streamed or downloaded, then select “Skip silence in audio”, then change the Playback Speed using ± plus or minus, tapping 1 to 3 times and it always freezes playing and audio outputs a glitched tone, like wave-table synthesis.

I can correct/stop the glitch pitch tone by going back to the previous screen Transport Controls and tap on Rewind 15 seconds. Then it will play normally at the selected ± speed.

Environment: (Settings you have changed (e.g. Auto Download). “Unusual” devices you use (e.g. Bluetooth headphones).)

Crash info:

This issue has been reported multiple times, so this report should be merged into one of the existing reports.
