# Interface request hide episode duration and file size

I do not at all want to know how long an episode will be before downloading. Hiding duration is important for this goal, but so is file size. I’ve learned 128 kb/s bitrate is about 1 minute per megabyte, and 160 isn’t far off
So hiding both is required so I don’t have even a hint of the episode duration, just as the podcast hosts also had no idea before and during recording, down to the second, what it would be.
For now, I just look away from the screen or squint so I don’t read it, hoping for a more reliable option.
I play episodes in another music player for eq (dropping treble) and have also suggested the feature there.

Duration / file size is something I am wary of when watching recordings of knock out football games as I do not want to know if the game has gone to extra time / penalties. So, for the current World Cup as an example I set an extended fixed time recording of the game.
Curious as to why you would want to hide this info for a podcast though?
