I’m aware that at that point I can click on the timestamps but having a button / functionality in fixed position would be way more convenient (especially considering I virtually never jump to next episode but I quite often use chapter navigation).
Alternatively making the chapter navigation section fixed atop of the regular navigation could also be convenient.
For me, that button shouldn’t be there in the first place. It makes the interface cluttered. There’s a better way of implementing this feature by just add a direction sign on the playing line to show chapters. And whenever you click on that sign to takes you to the chapter
I don’t know if it’s only me, I don’t see that chapter tab on most of my Podcast that have chapters. It doesn’t show at all. But if I check them on other Podcast apps it shows
It depends on how these podcasts publish/announce these chapters. AntennaPod recognises a range of methods, but doesn’t consider timestamps listed in the description (because it’s not reliable). Maybe that’s how these podcasts do it and the other app you’re checking it in does support that method.
Side note: the player screen is expected to be redesigned at some point. Progress is slow, but we’re aiming to declutter the interface while allowing quick navigation between chapters.
