Playable list of most recent downloaded

I think this is a feature request, but if the functionality already exists, please let me know. I would like to be able to see and play the podcast episodes sorted by what I have downloaded most recently. I can see these by going to downloads, and looking at the log, but then those aren’t clickable and I can’t play them. I can find them through the queue, or by sorting downloads by podcast title and looking through there, but the easiest logical organization in my mind would be to play what I downloaded most recently.

Kind of manual, I think this might work… These global settings:

Disable automatic download
Set Download queued
New episodes action to Inbox

When a sync happens, new episodes will queue in the inbox
You can select or multi-select them and Add to Queue, which should download them.

multi-select out of the inbox may not preserve the selection order.

When I go to Downloads I can click on an episode and there is a play button at the top. Are you seeing something different?

By the way, I nearly always download episodes and almost never look in the Downloads folder. The Queue is the usual location to playback from, and episodes are by default shown there in the order you downloaded them.

Clicking on an episode in downloads gives the shownotes view with a play button, so that works. I seem to have sorted my queue at some point and AFAICT there’s no way to get it back to be most recently downloaded first.

Just to be sure, did you check your sort option (queue screen, 3 dots menu top right). Maybe you selected to keep it sorted by date?

That sorts by the episode date (i.e. when the episode was released, not when I downloaded it), no? Checked both downloads and queue, that seems to be what “date” sort means for both of them. And actually now that I’ve sorted downloads, I can’t get it back to the order it was in (which was download order).

So I think I do still have a feature request, which is to sort by download date on the Queue, where there’s already a play button right there in the UI.
