# Playlist Option

I’d like to request the addition of a **Playlist feature** to AntennaPod.

Currently, the queue functions as a single global playlist, which is useful but limited.

Many other podcast apps (e.g., Podcast Republic, Podbean, Overcast, etc.) allow users to create **multiple playlists** for different contexts (commute, workout, study, etc.). This flexibility makes it easier to organize and listen across different moods or needs.

Potential ideas for implementation:

- Ability to create and name multiple playlists.

- Option to manually add or auto-add episodes to a chosen playlist.

- (Optional) “Official” playlists curated by AntennaPod volunteers, highlighting podcasts, themes, genres, holidays, seasons, recommended listening, etc.

About the “official playlists”, I don’t think it is likely to happen. AntennaPod is a headless and server independent podcast client that just reads RSS feeds. I don’t think there is any part of the specification that allows feeds to recommend other feeds.
