Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the shake to reset timer action? Or a way or direction I should move the phone?

I’m using 2.1.3 (f7409c08a) on a BlackBerry key2 and it needs a somewhat vigorous shake to kick it off.

It’s not much use as information, but bypass comparison Listen Audiobook player has a similar feature and I can reset the timer when the phones in my pocket by gently shaking one leg like an idiot.
