I am new to Android and I am looking for a Podcast Player

AntennaPod looks great! But I want to get usage stats.
Is there a way to export my usage statistics?

I looked in the forums but I couldn’t find how to do it

Thanks

Paul

Welcome to the AntennaPod family!

You’ll find Statistics right on the main menu below Favorites.

Yes, thanks.
Is there a way that I can export information on the Episodes that I have heard?
In Statistics, I see Subscriptions, Years and Downloads.
I like to track on my PC, which episodes that I have heard

At this moment, you will have to export the database and then run the command line sqlite to explore the data.

If you have something like Claude code, it can do all the work for you to look at the data.

Side note: This could be another future possible extension point to allow for statistics analysis

For playback history, there is a Playback History tab to look at episodes

What kind of analysis? Might be interesting to add to the main app as well

@ByteHamster I have been wanting to export my listening history and running a recommendation engine to find other podcasts or episodes. I think the app itself might not be the best place to implement a recommendation engine.

Another stat: for my subscription, what is the percentage of episodes for a feed I listen to, versus skipping. Maybe I would want to use that data to unsubscribe.

That would need data about other user’s listening behavior, wouldn’t it?

That could actually be a fun statistics screen to add to the main app. Something like a grid where each row is a podcast and each column is one of the 10 latest episodes. The columns then contain check marks for episodes you played.

Actually taking the exported data or my favorite episodes and asking Claude what other podcasts I should listen to is pretty decent.

Getting the entire listening history, filter by time may give a different set of recommendations. I am always in search of other podcasts to listen to

(Again, Android newbie 😉 )
How do I get access to the database from my PC?
Learning SQL has always been on my ToDo List!

I also came here to see if there was anything for stats in Antennapod.

The answer to the question: After exporting the database, open it in any SQL browser (sqlite). I usually use sqlitebrowser [1]. Mostly because I have Linux. You can of course use the CLI version but I guess it’s easier with a GUI. It’s also available for Windows too, if that’s what you use and call “PC”. Once you have opened the database, go to the Browse Data tab and there Table.

[1] [Downloads - DB Browser for SQLite](https://sqlitebrowser.org/dl/)

To do any kind of meaningful statistics you need to massage the database yourself and that is a completely different matter. You can look up a course in SQL or buy a book. But I would suggest, as mentioned before, that you do some vibe coding. Ask Claude to make a program for you that does the necessary statistics. Good luck.

PS. I just reversed a database that I had problems with for years because it has a proprietary solution and associated Windows programs. I had gotten pretty far on it without AI but when I let Claude loose it took 15 minutes to dissect the database and then a few hours with claude prompts and I had a fully functional linux program.
