I’ve figured out a workaround now, but for a couple of days I’d been trying and failing to use AntennaPod to subscribe to FreeFM’s Fighting Stigma show;
Searching within the app successfully finds an entry for Fighting Stigma, with FreeFM as the publisher, and a thumbnail of the host. But when I tap on it, I get an error message telling me;
“The podcast host’s server sent a website, not a podcast”
So the link supplied is not telling the app where to find an RSS feed for the show, which it needs to display info about the show and a list of episodes.
To narrow down where the problem could be, I went to accessmedia.nz (a service that hosts shows from kiwi community access media outlets like FreeFM as podcasts) and tried using AntennaPod to add a show from FreshFM (a different access radio station), using the link supplied by tapping the clipboard icon. This seems to work. So I tried it with Fighting Stigma there and it worked too.
So then I thought the problem was a bug in AntennaPod. But it could also be in the external search tools that provide results to its internal search?
I’ve reported the problem by email to the FreshFM manager, who’s also involved in running accessmedia.nz. Now I’m wondering if it might be similar to the problem reported recently here with the Spanish public radio podcast service. Any help locating the bug would be greatly appreciated.
