Android Auto - Menus either match mobile app settings, or can be manually configured as the app drawer/menus are

App version: 3.12.1 (f8c641887) (from Google Play)

Problem you may be having, or feature you want:

On the app, I’ve re-ordered my drawer items to be Subscriptions, Queue, History, Favorites, and my Subscriptions page (currently) sorts by subscription date.

On Android Auto, I get a completely different set of screens, and also Subscriptions defaults to alphabetical.

I also can’t see a difference between played and unplayed episodes on most screens on Android Auto.

This creates a situation where if I want to listen to several recent episodes of a podcast that starts with T, but didn’t have them queued up when I started driving, I have to either

  • find the Subscriptions screen
  • scroll down to the podcast,
  • remember which episodes I haven’t seen
  • click the individual episode
  • repeat for each episode

or

  • find the Episodes tab (which, as you will note above, I don’t even use on the mobile app)
  • scroll past all the episodes I’ve already listened to of every podcast I subscribe to
  • find the episode I want
  • repeat for each episode

Suggested solution:

Either A) make the menu options on Android Auto match the app, or

B) allow users to configure the menu order etc on Android Auto, just as they can on the app
