Android Auto - queue button not playing selected podcast

Device model: Google Pixel 9a

Expected behaviour: Pressing the queue button in the top right corner of the AA interface to select a different podcast to listen to. Selecting a podcast should then start playing that podcast

Current behaviour: When selecting a different podcast, it goes back to the currently playing podcast and doesn’t play the new podcast. The current podcast I’m listening to continues to play. All podcasts in the queue are downloaded to the device for offline play. I’ve found pressing the back button on the current playing podcast, then selecting Queue in the top menu and choosing a different podcast does allow that different podcast to start playing. It would be handier to allow selection from the AA queue menu.

First occurred: Since installing the app

Steps to reproduce:

1. In the AA interface, press the Queue button in the top right corner
2. Press a different podcast in the queue
3. Current podcast continues playing and nothing happens

Environment: Connecting to AA in car via a bluetooth adapter.

I’m also having this issue, although I can’t find anything in the documentation on how the android auto screens are supposed to work. Happy to have some explain that it is a feature not a bug, if there is some other way to change what episode I’m listening to.
