AntennaPod spontaneously starts playing

Device model: Motorola Edge 2025

Expected behaviour: If AntennaPod is not playing, it doesn’t play until I tell it to.

Current behaviour: Even if AntennaPod is not playing, when I get in my wife’s car it will start playing via BlueTooth when it connects to the car. In my car, it does not start playing until I click “Play” in the app.

But sometimes it is off, and then suddenly starts playing. I was just sitting at my desk, scrolling my Google new feed on my phone, when my current podcast suddenly started up. I had not gone anywhere near AntennaPod since last night

First occurred: 6 months ago

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Own phone.
  2. Do anything on it.
  3. Sometimes the podcast will just start playing.

Environment: Bluetooth hearing aid and bluetooth connection to our two cars

This is likely the car Bluetooth sending a “play” button press when connecting. Try turning that off in your car

Thanks, I suppose that’s possible.

It just happened again, when I sat at my desk, but the car is only about 5 m away. Maybe it connects even when the car is off? Or it connects and then disconnects, but that’s long enough to start playing.

I will check into it.
