Problem is double volume ignorant loud advertising inserted by podcast hosting which can’t be removed by Antennapod:
Audio compression would solve the issue:
Compression can be anything up to and as aggressive as silencing any audio louder than a set limit. I think that’s not necessary here but if it was adjustable that would be excellent as some podcasts suffer more than others from volume changes for advertising. In one podcast I listen to sometimes the hosts laugh loudly or talk excitedly over each other. This would also solve those sudden volume outbursts. I have seen it available as a simple toggle switch in other apps more to try and have everything play at the same volume but I think being able to adjust it would be better for users as very loud moment could become just a little quieter than the spoken content making the experience more like listening to real life conversations.
