Hi everyone,
I am new to AntennaPod and i wasn’t able to Figuren Out yet how i can start automated Downloads from the oldest Episode to the newest. How does this work?
Is this so you can listen to downloaded episodes in chronological order and as you get to the end of an episode the next one is downloaded? Don’t think that is doable and you have to do it manually.
Yes. That’s the way i would Like it to be. I did it manually before, but automated would be nice
You could use Rewind to achieve this. You can even specify which episode to start with and how frequently to download the next episode. There are several other options.
That looks like a neat idea. I subscribe to some classic radio shows from the Fourble web site and they do something similar in that they serve up each episode on a weekly basis if you wish though I prefer to get all the episodes they host in one hit and manage the downloads manually.
Great feature idea — and totally agree!
It would be super useful if AntennaPod had an option to automatically download episodes starting from the oldest rather than the newest. A lot of us like to listen to podcast series in chronological order, especially for story-driven or educational podcasts. Right now, the default behavior tends to prioritize the most recent episodes, which makes it a bit clunky for new listeners catching up from the beginning.
Ideally, this could be a per-podcast setting — so users can choose how downloads are ordered for each subscription. Bonus points if it could pause auto-downloads once a certain number of episodes are downloaded to help with storage management.
Would love to see this added in a future update. Until then, I’m manually queuing episodes from the bottom of the list — not ideal, but it works. Anyone found a smart workaround for this?
My approach to “listening from the beginning” is to filter episodes for those podcasts to show Not Played for that podcast. That way I can easily select the next episode(s) to download. (I never use auto-download, since I don’t think the benefits are worth the tradeoffs. I just choose what I want to download while I’m on Wi-Fi.)
