Problem you may be having, or feature you want
Hi, I’m missing a feature, that episodes not only automatically deleted after 100% played, but also after a period of days (configurable), from the time being downloaded.
For me it’s not possible to listen to all episodes I have automatically downloaded and I have always to deleted older versions manually, which I will never plan to play.
Kind regards
Ralph

Screenshots / Drawings / Technical details:
AntennaPod can do that. The setting is called “delete before auto-download”.
Hi, thanks.
But the option is “x days after played”
I’m looking for an automatic deletion for episodes which are NOT played during a defined period.

Hi, me again
Did I understand anything wrong, or is my feature, I have asked for current not available?
Ralph
“Not favorite” deletes them even if they are not played
Hi,
Not sure what else I can try. But old not played episodes will not deleted with this config.
Ist there anyone where the automatic deleting of unplayed episode works?
Whatever I try, they will not automatically deleted
If you can share a screenshot of your configuration, maybe this will help.
Thanks in advance
Problem solved
I have learned that this only works in combination with the limitation of downloaded episodes.
Not sure why it could not configured with only one parameter “delete episodes older then X days”… maybe this could be a feature request.
Improving automatic deletion and automatic download is already on our list. Unfortunately this is quite hard to get right because everyone has a different idea of how it should work.

here is my idea from some other pod app from times past.
1). general option keep x number of podcasts. delete oldest when newest arrives.
- apply over ride rule per podcast.
i have a zillion episodes of npr news. and i am confident that 99% of people that subscribe to any news podcast will never play but the most recent.
nb: sorry for the unscientific exaggerations. but the point is valid.
Exactly what I have requested before …
Seems very easy from a configuration perspective, and with my experience of over 30 years Software Design& Development not impossible
I’m confident that the developers here will find a good solution.
