Cannot find podcast which exists on other platforms (Spotify and apple)

I have been looking to add the American Postliberal Podcast to my feed in pocketcasts but have been unable to do so. The podcast exists in apple (The American Postliberal Podcast Podcast Series - Apple Podcasts) and it exists in Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/7ll4Tzwx8vRhzOi84rH3CN?si=yhdU6gFNR8KkMJD63tcLLg).

Why can’t I find it and add it within pocket casts?

Can anyone help?

Hi @notandy
Thanks for reaching out. That’s a bit odd indeed – usually when something is in the Apple index, you can find it in AntennaPod. It seems the podcast didn’t exit in the Podcast Index yet - I’ve added it just now.

It’ll be 15 minutes or so before you can find it, and the Podcast Index requires you to be quite precise with the search terms. But you can add it directly using the RSS feed:

  1. Copy this URL: https://api.substack.com/feed/podcast/1581806.rss
  2. In AntennaPod go to Add podcast, and tap on the first option under ‘Advanced’
  3. Tap Confirm

Enjoy!

If you don’t mind me asking, how did this happen? It’s not a new podcast and it isn’t THAT niche, but it is fairly controversial. Any ideas?

To be found by a podcast database, someone has to add the podcast. Apparently the creators of that podcast didn’t add it.

Ah, got it. Thank you for the help and sorry for my ignorance.

May I ask you to add another missing podcast to the index? “Solvable Mysteries Podcast”.

I found it on YouTube Music (an atrocious podcast apps choice!)
