Certificate error only in AntennaPod

App version: 3.9.0 (from Google Play)

Android version: 14

Device model: Galaxy A52s 5G

Expected behaviour: Successfully adds and plays the podcast

Current behaviour: Certificate error when adding

First occurred: a week or two ago

I’ve been listening to this podcast without any problems at first, but then it suddenly stopped refreshing and started giving certificate errors.
java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Trust anchor for certification path not found.
I assumed some certificate had expired, and it stopped working everywhere, but that’s not the case. Everywhere else: Spotify, Apple, Pocket casts, Podcast republic, Podcast addict, etc, it still works just fine. And I can manually go to the URL and download the XML file.
Why is this an AntennaPod unique issue, and is there something I can do to fix it?

I can replicate by trying to add Academic Edge Overloads (what a cool name) as a podcast.

In a chromium based browser, I see they did get a new certificate for their site on Sept 4 2025 and it’s good for another year.

Btw not sure what changed, but it started working again.
