Changing active podcast does not change player bar

App version: 3.4.0f from F-Droid

Android version: 10

Device model: Honor View 20

Expected behaviour: When I play a podcast the play control bar appears at the bottom. When I then play a new podcast I would expect, as I think happened before, the new podcast to replace the previous one in the play control bar.

Current behaviour:
It does not which means I can only play, pause or delete the new podcast.
If I pause the new podcast and then start it again it then becomes the active podcast in the podcast play control bar.
Hope this all makes sense.

First occurred: (e.g. about x days/weeks ago)
Since most recent update.

Steps to reproduce:

1. This - play podcast
2. Then that - click play on another podcast
3. Then this - play control bar does not update
4. Etc.

Environment: (Settings you have changed (e.g. Auto Download). “Unusual” devices you use (e.g. Bluetooth headphones). Did you select another media player?)
Nothing unusual

Strange. I don’t see this in 3.4.0 from the Google Play Store. The podcast I choose to move to play or the one currently playing is always showing in the lower player control bar bottom of the screen.
