Expected behaviour: No error on playback being paused.
Current behaviour: ‘Decoder failed: c2.mtk.mp3.decoder‘ error on playback being paused.
First occurred: Today, after my phone did an OTA update from Android 12 to Android 15.
Steps to reproduce:
- Start AntennaPod
- Choose any episode
- Play the episode
- Pause the episode
- Error occurs
Environment: U81 BlueTooth headset (happens when playing back through the phone’s speakers or any other BlueTooth headset or speaker, as well)
Crash info: My phone (Murena Teracube 2e Emerald) just OTA updated the OS from Android 12 to Android 15.

Ever since, when I pause playback (of any episode) in AntennaPod (either manually by pressing the ‘||’ button; via losing the BlueTooth connection to my headset; or by pressing the BlueTooth headset button), I get the following error:
Error
The media file could not be played.
- Try deleting and re-downloading the episode.
- Check your network connection, and make
sure no VPN or login page is blocking access. - Try long-pressing and sharing the “Media
address” to your web browser to see if it can
be played there. If not, contact the podcast
creators.
Decoder failed: c2.mtk.mp3.decoder
I hit the ‘OK’ button, then hit the ‘Play’ button, and playback resumes normally.
