First of all I’d like to start with a word of gratitude for this fantastic application that I’ve now been using for a few months. I’m a big fan of podcasts and supporter of open source projects and I can’t believe it took me so long to discover AntennaPod!
Now to my question. I often listen to my podcasts while doing some physical activity, usually while walking.
I also like to take notes when I hear something interesting that I’d like to remember. Of course, in these situations I don’t have pen and paper at hand.
So I’m looking for a way to use my phone to take notes as I listen.
I’d like to use the microphone on my headset to record a few words or thoughts as I listen to the podcast.
Ideally, I’d love these notes to contain the timing in the podcast so I can come back to it calmly afterwards.
What solutions might there be for this desired workflow?
I’m OK with a solution where I pause the podcast, but what I’m really looking for is to have as little touch interaction with my phone as possible. I’m looking for a solution that uses voice and, if possible, records the podcast’s current timestamp.
I think that should do; ones created you could use your phone’s speech-to-text capabilities to ‘record’. I don’t that we can or want to implement an actual recording functionality within AntennaPod.
The only additional thing that’d have to be implemented then is a way to trigger this and start phone’s speech-to-text with e.g. headphone buttons (we already have triple press pause, so it’d have to be quadruple press).
