Download error, kill AP, backup, player hang

Download complete

Current behaviour:
Download completed but size: 0 does not equal expected size 33201913

First occurred: (e.g. about x days/weeks ago)
After an ExoPlayer abort

Steps to reproduce:
It is a bit random, do not know why ExoPlayer aborts
Unable to download some podcasts after an ExoPlayer abort.
After AntennaPod reinstall everything works fine again.

Environment: (Settings you have changed (e.g. Auto Download). “Unusual” devices you use (e.g. Bluetooth headphones). Did you select another media player?)
None.

Restart android.
Start AP.
Download episode from site A ok.
Stream episode site A. ok.
Download episode while streaming site A > Download completed but size: 0 does not equal expected size 33201913
Select site B pod.
Download site B episode ok.
Stream site B episode B ok.
Download site B episode B > Download completed but size: 0 does not equal expected size 22201913

While streaming and listening via Bluetooth from site A streaming stops after about 30 minutes.
Player hang with blue rotating blue circle.
Download from site A > timeout or Download completed but size: 0 does not equal expected size 33771913
Download from site B is ok.
Have to restart Android or clear AP memory to get back to normal.

I didn’t read this carefully enough to grasp all the details, but everything works fine again after AntennaPod reinstallation? So no issue now?

Standard Android player is much better, no player hang.

Hard to reproduce download errors, very intermittent.

  1. Tried download (ladda ned) > ok
  2. tried 1 again > ok.
  3. Stream > ok.
  4. Download while streaming is active > sometimes work, sometimes not.
    If it does not work no download of other pods from that site is possible but other sites download works fine.
  5. Reset situation with unit restart > ok
  6. Reset situation with clear cash > no change.
  7. Reset situation with kill AP in task manager > no change

Have you tried using different networks, to make sure the problems is not related to it?

Could you perhaps try sniffing the network from another device on the same network to observe and study the traffic? E.g. by running wireshark on a laptop.

When you say that site, it means whichever site you’re streaming from? It’s not always sr.se, is it?

Site = URL.
Site A = one specific url, eg sr.se

Tried WiFi off and WiFi on when AntennaPod was active.
Now it works fine.
