Problem you may be having, or feature you want:
I do the chapter art and podcasting 2.0 related things for a show called “Ungovernable Misfits”. We started to use gifs in some of the chapters to convey meaning, promote the brand or to show off products/services that sponsors could provide to our community of listeners.
It works in Fountain, Podverse, Podcast Guru (next release) at the moment.
6% of our listeners use Antennapod to listen to Ungovernable Misfits and I’m sure that’s because of the FOSS ethos that your project has and so it would be nice to equip them with the same experience as the other apps.
Suggested solution:
I think it would be a big improvement with little technical cost, as it’s refining a feature instead of adding a whole new one.

I would just go to Fountain and check how they are serving the GIF’s because it’s the most stable impementation.
