Problem you may be having, or feature you want:
In AntennaPod, after subscribing to many podcasts, is it possible to introduce a folder mechanism or a tree-like structure to manage and organize the subscribed podcasts?
Suggested solution:
Because following a large number of podcasts may lead to forgetfulness and inconvenience in searching, would it be possible to introduce a folder and tagging system to better manage the numerous channels?
The folder mechanism could be used to display channels in the sidebar, while tags could be applied alongside folders in the subscriptions tab for better organization.
Thanks a lot, I have tried the ātagā item, but I find some unexpected outcome:
When I add a tag for a podcast, itāll create a tag item in both sidebar and subscripton tab, but in fact itās not what we expect.
As we all know, tags are a one-to-many system, meaning a podcast can have multiple tags. Therefore, I believe the current folder-based management approach is not ideal.
My suggestion is to provide an option for folder categorization. This way, when opening the subscription tab, folders and podcasts can coexist, much like how folders and files coexist in a directory. Tags, on the other hand, should exist as an intrinsic attribute of a podcast, used for categorization and searching for desired podcasts, without appearing in the tabs or the sidebar.
Iām not sure whether itās easy to be implemented; itās just some suggestions I have for managing podcast databases. Thank you for replying!
I donāt understand what you mean ? If you add only one tag to a podcast it will act the same as a folder. Especially if you toggle off show in main list.
The only thing thatās not possible is to create sub tags to mimic folder hierarchy and set tags to be shown first in main list. (Could be something nice to have if requests on github doesnāt already exists ?)
So I would suggest to first add all subscriptions to an āallā tags and disable show in main list. It will be like all subscriptions are in a folder āallā. Then āmoveā to another folder to categorized podcasts.
