Expected behaviour: When I subscribe to a private podcast feed I will then be able to play the episode that show up in that feed.
Current behaviour: When I subscribe to any of three different private podcast feeds from this site I can see the episodes and the cover art, and new episodes show up in my queue, but I cannot play them. Each episode just says “Episode does not contain a media file.” I put the same URL into Podcast Addict app and it worked normally, but that app sucks compared to Antenna Pod so I really want this app to work.
First occurred: From the time I downloaded this app, maybe a month ago.
Steps to reproduce:
- RSS
- Add:
https://neworleans.football/podcastfeed/[redacted]/[redacted]
- Then go to feed and attempt to listen
Environment: I have a vanilla setup of Antenna Pod.
You’re saying that private feeds from other sites work fine and you’re only seeing trouble with feeds from one site?
No this site has three different podcasts. I don’t subscribe to private feeds from anyone else. These same feeds do work on Podcast Addict.
For most other users, private feeds work fine. So there must be something special about those feeds. If you send me the full feed url (info@<my username>.com
), I can have a look.
That podcast is broken. The creators should fix their feed. The feed gives a media type of false
instead of a proper media type.
<enclosure url="..." length="0" type="false"/>
The next AntennaPod update will try to work around this, but this is not a proper solution. It might break in other apps or cause all kinds of other issues. The only proper solution is that the creators fix their feed.
It would be great if you could contact the creators of the feed and send them a link to this forum post.
