Episode Limit

App version: 3.8.0 Google Play

Problem you may be having, or feature you want:

Ability to limit subscription to single downloaded episode. I subscribe to “NPR News Now” and without this feature, my queue is filled with repeat episodes: 1PM, 2PM, 3PM. I always and only want the most recent single episode. Castro on iOS has this per-subscription feature called “Episode Limit”

You could do this manually with some config. For the subscription related to NPR, edit it’s settings.

Set the New Episodes Action to Add to Inbox for NPR
If you have a global default for downloads, Disable it for the NPR subscription.

If you sync, say 4 episodes will appear in your inbox. Select the one to download. It will start to download and disappear to your queue.

For the remaining episodes in Inbox not downloaded, you can long press one, and either Remove it from Inbox, or Multi select and choose several. If multi select and several, choose Remove from Inbox.

Oh, combined with ‘Remove all from inbox’ this is not bad. Thank you!!

Ah yeah, there’s that option too.

I’ve been getting more selective with my podcasts, and reduced the autodownload subscriptions, with the others going to Inbox for inspection and usually removal.
