Episodes filter works in about 90% of cases

App version: .3.5.0 (300baf6dd), from Google Play

Android version: 13

Samsung galaxy a55

In the source setting I have 2 episodes exclude filters, by keyword and by minimal length of episode.

The filter works in about 90% of cases. About 10% of episodes which should be excluded pass the filters and appear in queue list.

The combination is e.g.:
Exclude: Newsfilter, up to 15 min

Environment:
All sources Auto download

Should be excluded why? Because their description contains the filtered word? Or the title?

Title contains the word, and also it is shorter then the length filter. Both conditions for exclusion are fulfilled, but the filtering fails in some cases.

In the picture you can see sources filter setting (exclude by keyword and exclude by minimum lenght) and my queue, with episodes, which should have been filtered out.

I can confirm this: filter criteria are not working at all for me, when setting automated download of episodes. I am now using AP 3.6.1 running on LOS 22.1 (=Android 15), but the filter criteria did not work for me since they were introduced.

Reading Ludoha’s story, who suffers the same misfunction, I wonder if the filters may be incompatible with languages other than English? If I was to guess, I’d say that his case is Polish(?), while my case is German.

Just in case you like to test it, here’s an example: I subscripted the podcast “Basta Berlin”, and there are two episodes each week, an audio only version on Monday and a video version on Thursday. The title of the audio version on Monday contains the words “Basta Wochenstart”, which I set as filter criteria for automated download, but still every episode will be downloaded, although the video version on Thursday does not contain these words.

There are other subscriptions where the filter criteria are ignored, this is just one example.

The minimum episode length filter does not work either so maybe it is not language dependent.

It was just an idea, no offence meant!

none taken, maybe you are right and the filter problem is diacritics dependent
