My podcast, namely “Radio TRO”, has a correctly installed SSL cert which then handshakes correctly with CloudFlare running Full (strict), yet AntennaPod on a Pixel 6 running Android 16 can no longer refresh or play episodes.
I’ve gone through everything and learned a lot but still can’t make heads/tails of what’s causing the issue.
This is a new issue for my podcast which I first noticed a few days ago.
What is the feed URL? What is the error message?
“Unable to establish a secure connection. This can mean that another app on your device (like a VPN or an ad blocker) blocked the download, or that something is wrong with the server certificates.
Technical reason:
java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Trust anchor for certification path not found.”
File URL:
https://tro.bike/feed/podcast/
I’m not running a VPN. And both sides of the SSL are bridged correctly. I’m using IPv6. I tried adding ipv4 to no success.
I also tested bypassing cloudflare, which had some effect for an hour or so, then even that started getting weird.
It works fine on my pixel 9 with Android 16. Did you change the certificates on your device? Is it a problem just for you or for other devices as well?
The problem persists.
”Did you change the certificates on your device?”
- I’ve never done this. I guess I’ll search around about it.
”Is it a problem just for you or for other devices as well?”
- I just received word that it IS a problem for others using AntennaPod.
Also … where I mention testing on other phones, those phones don’t have AntennaPod installed (used another app but the feed does work and episodes play).
The problem appears to be with CloudFlare, or at least for the moment. I’ve “paused” CF and now things are working.
I have no idea what to do on the CF side to remedy this.
