Problem you may be having, or feature you want:
Some podcasts offer multiple “broadcats”/“programms”.
For example Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita (https://podcasty.rp.pl/) has various:
There are two ways to subscribe:
- global feed with everything
- particular feeds of programmes that interest us
Now, when they started they had basically 3-4 of programmes. Now there are dozens. I could throw away current global feed and simply add only those that interest me but! If they introduce a new one I won’t know about it (without checking podcast page, which never happens).
I can stick with the global feed and use “Episode filter” feature but that is based on the text (title?) only which doesn’t seem to be too reliable.
Suggested solution:
RSS spec has channel item <category/>
element. It would be possible to filter out all the episodes that we don’t want by simply selecting categories that interest us.
In my case the usual flow woud be - I’m listening to podcasts, I notice they have new show/programme/category and if/when I don’t like I simply deselect it from the channel options and I’m not bothered with it again.
