Device model: Motorola Edge 2024

Expected behaviour:30-50 mb data used streaming per hour

Current behaviour: I installed the app today. Used for 52 minutes and android says I used 257 MB. Didn’t download anything. I was streaming the Elvis Duran show podcast. I went into setting and have downloads turned off and refresh podcast off. Under what’s allowed using mobile data the only box I have checked is streaming.

First occurred today

Steps to reproduce:

  1. This. Install
  2. Then that. Play streaming podcast
  3. Then this. Listen
  4. Etc.

Environment: (Settings you have changed (e.g. Auto Download). “Unusual” devices you use (e.g. Bluetooth headphones). Did you select another media player?) The only thing I did was use Bluetooth connected to JBL flip6

Your streaming activity counts against your data quota.

What you stream is going to depend on the quality the producer used to make the file. I can only think of one of my podcasts that offers different quality recordings.

You can check the size of the episode you were listening to. For the podcasts I usually listen to, around 160MB for an hour is not uncommon, though, sometimes an episode is bigger or smaller
