I listen to a lot of podcasts from iHeart, and for months now, I’ve been getting the same issue across all of them. I don’t think it’s happening to other podcasts, but couldn’t say that for 100% certain. My partner listens to similar podcasts using Spotify and hasn’t had this issue, which is why I think it’s an app-specific issue.
Totally at random, podcasts will skip around, repeat, and cut out sections. Like halfway through a sentence, suddenly it will be a new sentence from minutes later or earlier in the podcast - but the minutes:seconds counter won’t skip around, that stays linear. Sometimes an episode will also end early, when it skips to 0:00 seemingly at random, but this happens less often.
It seems to happen across multiple shows, at all times of day, and I think it happens with downloads too (although I mostly stream). Sometimes it will happen multiple times in an episode, meaning it can be really hard to follow.
My phone is a One Plus 8 (might be a 7, can’t remember and can’t find it on my phone), using OxygenOS 13.1 and AntennaPod version 3.8.0. The issue happens across multiple pairs of headphones.
