Let AP receive downloaded mp3 files from browser via OLE

Hello!

Downloads of mp3 files done in a browser have to manually be moved from Android’s global download folder into the designated local folder, that AP is allowed to access, because AP is not allowed to access Android’s download directory. Unfortunately, browsers like Firefox don’t offer to choose the download folder, and Android does not enlist AP as a possible app that can open the download file when Firefox asks what to do with it.

Could AP be made a possible app to open a downloaded mp3 file with?

This is what I have in mind:

FF downloads an mp3. When the download finishes, FF ask “open with” and if one chooses “AP”, the file will be copied to AP’s local podcast folder and automatically added to the play list.

Possible or not?

Another way to achieve this is to let the browser use an external download manager. Then when downloading something, the external manager (at least the ones I have used) let one pick the folder to download to. The folder can be the one that AntennaPod is subscribed to.

Sounds interesting. Which dl manager are you using?

I have used Download Navi | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository
