I’m often having to reset the playback position of barely played and mostly played episodes. It’d be great if there was a setting (general or podcast specific) to set as played or unplayed given how many minutes have been played or unplayed. Some music/audiobook players have that feature (e.g. Musicolet).
In Settings | Playback in the Queue section there is an option ‘Smart mark as played’ that would address one part of your request.

Now there’s just the ‘barely played’ side, but I guess that’s less of an issue.
