It seems to me that there is a very small difference with prior to 3.12. This is not a bug so am not posting it there, neither is it a feature request, as it is extremely minor - and also my memory may be faulty! I am only pointing it out so that the next time you do any maintenance or development on the widget, you can address it - or if you have free time and nothing else on your list (Ha! Ha!). 
When an episode is playing, the widget, as it did before, shows the episode name and icon. When the episode ends and the next in the Queue is ready to start (ie no Continuous playback), the widget then shows “No media playing”, and will start playing the next episode if play is chosen. The difference is that prior to 3.12 it is my impression that the widget showed the next episode name and icon. Opening the app before starting to play does show the next episode.
Told you it was something minor!
