I need to find the “Network Settings” for Antennapod. I’ve looked through “Settings”, not there. I can’t believe that this isn’t somewhere…please give me a clue about where it’s been moved to?
Thanks.
App version: 3.11.0, from Google Play
Android version: Android 16, Google release
Device model: Samsung S25+
Expected behaviour: When I turn phone off and put it in my pocket, I expect it to keep playing.
Current behaviour: Podcast goes off after some period of time. Looking for Network Settings so I can check to be sure that they’re set properly.
First occurred: Today
Steps to reproduce:
1.Turn on the phone.
Open the Antennapod app.
Start a podcast.
Exit the Antennapod app.
Turn off my phone.
Put my phone in my pocket.
Walk.
Podcast goes off/stops at some point, NOW bar with media controls is gone from lock screen as well.
I can get my phone out of my pocket and turn the podcast back on.
Podcasts goes off again.
Repeat 9. and 10. as often as I can stand.
Environment: No changes by me. Google Play updated my Antennapod app Jan. 1, 2026. I haven’t used it since then, so maybe it’s the latest update?
Forgot to mention that all my podcasts are pre-downloaded before I listen to them, so I’m not depending on cellular connectivity during my walks. No need for either wi-fi or cellular while I’m listening to podcasts as a result of that.
Hmmm…doesn’t look like the usual Network Settings for a podcast player. I’m used to seeing settings that explicitly say what to use cellular data or wifi data for. That just looks like a list of items.
So is what you’re saying that anything that’s checked in that list can be done with either cellular or wifi data? And those that aren’t checked can only be done with wifi data? Weird, but maybe…The only thing that I have checked in that list is “Synchronization”. The rest are unchecked. On the other hand, my podcasts are pre-downloaded so don’t require cellular or wifi data when I’m out walking.
I’m trying the “Unrestricted” setting under the app’s battery tab in the Antennapod entry in Settings → Apps. I’ll see if that does anything.
What disturbs me is that I haven’t changed anything, and it used to work. Which means to me that either the OS or the app has been changed. Got to wonder if anyone else is seeing the behavior of having the Antennapod app turn off after turning off the screen on my phone and putting it in one’s pocket?
That is correct, or more simply:
Always use Wi-Fi if available
Else use mobile data if available and enabled for a given function (like Synchronization).
Thanks!. I added “Streaming” just in case that’s required when I’m out and about, even though I’m only playing pre-downloaded podcasts. You never know, bugs happen :-).
