Problem you may be having, or feature you want:
This has already been asked but I didn’t feel like re-opening a topic after 10 months: Subscribe to OPML URL rather than only being able to import static .opml file - #2 by loucasal
Currently, the only way to select podcasts from an OPML file is to first download it with a browser, then load it from Antennapod.
It would be great to open an OPML file from a URL too, with the same behaviour as opening a file locally. This would allow compiling one big list of podcasts, expose the list in the internet as OPML and allow cherry-picking podcasts of interest directly from a URL (possibly leveraging the same copy-and-paste trick that’s present for RSS files).
My use case is that I like compiling lists of audiobooks that are freely available around (e.g. Gutenberg, LibriVox, LiberLiber, etc.) and share these lists with family and friends. The current download-then-open approach is frankly cumbersome, especially for those that struggle a bit with using technology.
Suggested solution:
Baseline suggestion: allow using a URL pointing to a OPML file in addition to the current file-loading approach. After the download, the contents would be used exactly as it happens when loading a file locally, i.e. only allow selecting podcasts to add to the current list of subscriptions.
Nice to have addition: keep a bookmarks list of OPML URLs, so that one can re-open a URL later in case of new additions or just new cherry-picking needs.
