Pause playback during notifications

App version: 3.8.0 Google Play

Android version: 13

Device model: Samsung Galaxy S20 (Exynos)

Expected behaviour: I would like to fix this somehow, maybe even do it like others, for example, so that after a notification, the playback would rewind a little, maybe by about 1 second. Like it is done in Podcast Republic.

Current behaviour: The podcast playback does not pause during the notification (although the settings say to pause), or rather the sound itself disappears, but after the notification plays (about one second), the playback continues as if there was no pause. For example, this happens to me when the Beep Timer app plays a short signal every hour. The podcast is downloaded to the device.

You’re saying that when another app plays a sound you would like AntennaPod to notice and either pause the podcast playback or rewind it a bit?

Hopefully both. There is an option that does the former but sounds like that is not working for the OP.

Other apps do have an auto-rewind on pause feature but for me they are never aggressive enough. I would like a 5 second minimum for any pause building to 20 seconds after five minutes to a full minute for any pause over an hour. That is from working as a multi-drop delivery driver with frequent Pause/Plays every few minutes listening to a rip of a music radio show with presenter.

I can see how that could be useful. Thanks for sharing a more detailed usage case.

I also like to listen to more regular podcasts while working but have to fit those into occasions where I can get the whole episode listened to in one, two or at a pinch three goes using a manual 20 second rewind to regain context.
