Per-podcast downloading options are ignored

Expected behaviour:

I had automatic downloads enabled in global settings and all the podcasts were automatically downloaded. Since a podcast was publishing too many episodes I don’t want to listed, I selected the following options in that podcast options (option names could be different because I’m translating from italian):

  • Keep podcast updated: ON
  • New Episodes behaviour: Add to queue
  • Includes in automatic download: OFF

Using this settings I would expect to have new episodes listed in the queue but not downloaded.

Current behaviour:

  • Episodes of that podcast are automatically downloaded even if the option is OFF
  • I lost the episode filters. Filters are not available when the automatic download option is OFF

So at the moment AntennaPod is downloading any new episode, ignoring the “don’t download” option and ignoring the filters.

First occurred: 1month ago, but I never used this configuration before.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Add podcast X
  2. Enable automatic download an all podcasts as global option
  3. Disable automatic download in X-podcast dedicated options

Is this a bug or an expected behavior?

EDIT: In my opinion there are two bugs in this report:

  • The app should not download episoded for a podcast that has “automatic download” disabled
  • Episode filters should be respected also when the request is to add episoded to the queue without download them

You don’t want the episodes to get downloaded, but you set to add them to the queue and to download the queue. So, yes. Either disable adding them to the queue or disable downloading the queue to have them not downloaded

Ok thanks. This was completely unintentional. I don’t even remember if the “automatically download episodes in the queue” option is enabled by default or I’ve enabled it at sometime in the last 5+ years :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks for the quick reply.

About the second point what do you think? Even if automatic download is disabled for a podcast, filters should be considered to avoid adding unwanted episodes to the queue.
