Have changed to unrestricted battery and It seems to have improved it. Is this recommended?
This happens to me occasionally. For me, it’s when there is a momentary disconnection between my phone and my router. Sometimes it would appear I was connected to wifi the whole time if I looked at my phone, but my router log would show a quick disconnect/reconnect. You can see it in action if you cast a pod and after it starts disable wifi on your phone. You should experience the same behavior.
I have put this down to an issue with my router, but I have so far not been able to resolve the problem. I’m sure there’s a setting or combination of settings somewhere but I’ve changed so many at this point in an attempt to resolve it that I’m not even sure it’s not just a problem with my router. Something that helped lessen the frequency was when I put my phone on the 2.4 GHz band instead of the 5 GHz. Since 2.4 has a better range I figured that might end the disconnects but it only helped a bit. That’s why I’m convinced it has to be some other issue with my router.
The same thing used to happen, in a way, when I was on Google Podcasts. But when my phone would disconnect the cast would continue to play, but the phone wouldn’t also start playing. It just stopped keeping track of the listening progress. I had the same router back then. I wish I could be more help but these are just my observations and despite my best efforts, no solution.
