Expected behaviour:
Possible to resume listening even after some minutes pause
Current behaviour:
Play button on Bluetooth headphones does not resume playing if waiting some minutes.
First occurred: have never worked since I migrated from Google podcast to Antenna.
Steps to reproduce:
Connect Bluetooth headphones
Start listening to podcast
Pause podcast with the Bluetooth headphones
Wait a few minutes. Usually 2 minutes is enough, but the time differs a bit from time to time.
Try resume playing with button on Bluetooth headphones
Environment: Auto Download on wifi. Episode refresh every hour. Bluetooth headphones with play/pause button.
I am not sure if this is by design, or some kind of issue, but around 2 minutes “timeout” for Bluetooth resume is too short time.
Instead another media player picks up the play and starts to play something different.
Seems like the “widget player” cannot resume playing either when first trying to resume on Bluetooth headphones. Nothing happens.
You are definitely not the only person to experience this. Many others, including myself, have observed and documented that the “widget player” times-out after being disrupted.
Same here, it’s really frustrating how often I can’t resume a podcast with my earbud play feature without going back into the app. It happens all the time and is absurdly frustrating.
It’s not just that play doesn’t work, the widget miniplayer, whatever its called closes too so I can’t even resume from there.
