Playback stops after a few minutes, randomly starts and stops after that.

App version: 3.11.0

Android version: LineageOS 23.2 / Android 16

Device model: Google Pixel 4 XL

Expected behaviour: After hitting play, podcast will play until they finish, I pause/stop, or pause/stop when I want based on settings; e.g., bluetooth disconnect.

Current behaviour: Podcasts will play for a few minutes and then stop. If i turn the screen on they will play for a few moments and stop again. after stopping, sometimes they random start playing again for little bursts. it startles me. but mostly they just stop.

First occurred: ~08 Feb 2026 when Lineage went from 23 > 23.2.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Download a podcast, hit the play button.

Environment: i download everything, don’t stream. not happening with other apps; e.g., Music Player which is also playing local media. speaker or bluetooth, happens with every podcast, airplane mode, wifi on/off still happens. definitely started after upgrading to 23.2. antennapod has full access to my battery. i forced stop, reinstalled, toggled all notifications settings, etc. nothing fixed.

AntennaPod doesn’t seem to recognize it as a crash/bug. Bug report just gives system info but i’ll include.

Crash info:

Environment

AntennaPod version: 3.11.0

I think this can be closed.

Seems fixed with 20 March 2026 “nightly” Lineage release. That being said, I don’t see anything in the change log that would matter but most of it is over my head.
