Quick Play Shortcut or Option

App version:
3.8.0f (F-Droid)

Problem you may be having, or feature you want:
A way to immediately start playback

Suggested solution:
Either:

  1. Have a global setting that will autoplay on app launch
  2. Similar to the quicktile, add another homescreen shortcut (available when holding down the app icon) to create a shortcut that will start playing whatever is in progress/queued.

There already is the widget that shows a play button

And that’s great but I’m requesting something a little smaller than 4x1 and composable with other shortcuts. For clarity a 5th option in the following:

You can resize the 4x1 widget to 1x1. We cannot add more shortcuts, there is a limit.

Thank you for the tip and knowledge. The issue with the widget is that it can’t be put in a folder, otherwise it works well (as does the quick tile).

How about the option to begin playback on launch? Is that a valid request?

Consider the tiles from Android’s top pulldown. You could put the AntennaPod tile in the first four so it’s always visible. Tapping it should start/stop, but if the app isn’t active, it may need some help to start.

Haha, I got distracted while posting this and the tiles were already mentioned. sigh. Anywho…

Yes, it was mentioned in the original post and is a fine solution to the problem!
