Randomly and frequently stops playing and won't resume until app restarted

Android version: 17

Device model: Google Pixel 9a

Expected behaviour: Podcast plays until the end

Current behaviour: Randomly stops playing, gives error that file cannot be played, washing machine load icon

First occurred: started with last update approx two weeks ago?

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start playing a podcast
  2. Wait
  3. Episode stops

Environment: Streaming preferred, internet access still connected throughout and other apps work online when AntennaPod won’t play/resume. Pinned controls still shown but also don’t work.

To “fix” you have to close the app and restart it. Works until next time it stops.

Actually, I think this has already been posted under a slightly different title which is why I didn’t realise it was the same issue that seems to have been fixed in 3.12.2 - will close this.

I installed 3.12.2 from the beta programme and it is much improved but has just happened again so perhaps it’s not entirely fixed idk. I’ll keep an eye on it.

I don’t have that setting in this version of the app, but I have previously had it set to that. In fact there are no buffer options at all now.
