Hi @awi,
Thanks for using AntennaPod and chipping in on our community forum
You’re not the only one that has requested it:

And someone already started to work on implementing it, but the code is yet to be reviewed:

I know that this is an older post, but there’s a simple workaround you can use for this.

If you drag the currently-playing episode to the bottom of the queue, then playback will stop after the episode, because it will reach the end of the queue.

While, yes, this will cause payback to stop after the current episode, it’s not really a good workaround because you have then lost your position in the queue.

This issue and PR have been open for a long time. Is there any resolution coming in the near future?

If you turn off “continuous playback”, AntennaPod stops after the episode, keeps the position in the queue, and already loads the next episode (so you can press play and continue if you want).

Hi ,

New to the app and forums…

→ Also requesting a dedicated “End of episode” option for the sleep timer.

(Since it’s a seemingly basic feature, requested since 2016 without implementation, and with only suggested workarounds offered as solutions, curious to know why the idea has been nixed?)

Would allowing the continuous playback as a toggle in the sleep timer screen be a simple way to achieve this without too much additional work?

I’m using that function now but it’s tucked away if I want to use both behaviours.

Maybe the ultimate solution would be an ‘end of episode’ button in the sleep menu that just temporarily disables continuous playback.

Of course we are just aiming for perfection here, the app is fantastic already.

The last message in the PR was 6 months ago, and comments on the issue and the PR appear to be locked. Is there anything I could do to help push this along?

I see that the PR/issue is marked as needing some kind of decision. Is that still accurate at this time?

This is the ideal solution in my opinion. Making an already existing feature easier to access but making it temporary, turning continuous playback off easily and then turns it on again automatically when playback is finished.

Bumping this feature request. Would still love to see it.

This seems to be the same thing as the request here: Sleep timer until end of episode

App version: 3.6.1 (8ec7d08e2) Android (I have no idea which “play” store)

I can’t find where to set Sleep at End of Episode. I see the “Z^z^z” icon in top right. I can set sleep after a set number of minutes, shake to reset, etc. But not “Sleep at end of episode”.

Suggested solution: Please add an ability to sleep at the end of the episode (or move it to the “Z^z^z” menu).

Screenshots / Drawings / Technical details: I don’t know how to do that. I hope I described it well enough. But I like AntennaPod, I’ve been cycling through a bunch of Pod apps trying to find a good one, so I know what I’m talking about.

Also, unrelated, where it the heart button referred to in this picture?

You can actually just disable Continuous Playback. When the current episode ends, playback will stop rather than jumping to the next queue item.

The heart button is at the bottom of each post - except here in the Feature Request section, where there is a Vote button at the top.

Yeah, but I want continuous playing on most of the time, and that setting is buried somewhere under the menu system. I still think it should be part of the “Z^z^z” menu.

Well for the present we can only the timer at like 15 minutes 20 minutes but there’s no such a function as stop playing at the end of episode which is a very great function that available on other podcast platforms like Google podcast or Spotify I really wish this function could be available in the future update.

I disagree: This is not the solution to the request. It is a workaround and not even a good one because it means that I have to turn this option on and off multiple times a day. I have seen @keunes forwarding to GitHub but seeing this marked as “solution” is irritating. Also the solution on GitHub (putting the episode at the end) is only a workaround because it’s not possible to do that from the play screen but only from the playlist where I have to find the exact spot of the episode under multiple 100 tracks. So I’d really be glad if that option would be available in the future as it’s standard in most apps, but not the best podcast app on the market (to clarify: I mean Antennapod). Thanks!

I agree with @sigma sentiments regarding this function. This is one of my most missed features from Google Podcasts, but have settled on the “move to end” workaround. It is unintuitive and clunky, and difficult for the new user to find. I only found it via GitHub, but many casual users will never get that far, even if they get as far as these forums.
