"Statistics" differ from "time played" after switching phones and importing

I am using AntennaPod version 3.5.0 on Android 12 (Motorola G Power 2022).

After switching phones and importing the most recently exported database (which had been exported the day the phone switch happened), I noticed some discrepancies when following the “Subscriptions\Statistics” path: the podcasts show up with the duration of time played under each of them, as expected, but the assigned value/duration is wrong and smaller than the real one; however, when selecting the actual podcast, the resulting pop-up has all the correct statistics, including the correct “time played”.

Can anyone clarify why this is happening?

On your old phone, you probably enabled the setting to also count episodes that you just marked as played but did not actually play

I noticed something like that the other day, even though my phone and AntennaPod version (3.5.0) hadn’t changed recently. My theory was that it’s related to inserted ads (podcast length as listed by the publisher vs. playback length of podcast with ads inserted).

Thank you! The old phone does indeed count episodes marked as played. Could I ask two follow-up questions:
a) How do I change that setting?
b) Is there some way to harmonize these statistics, particularly so it refers to the one that includes both “truly played” and “marked as played”? (the screenshot below illustrates the discrepancy)

Tap on filter icon and uncheck include episodes manually marked as read.
