"To the top of queue" (add & move to)

App version: 3.3.2 from Google Play Store

Problem you may be having, or feature you want:
I often queue episodes faster than i listen to them.
Sometimes i would like to queue an episode so that it becomes the next after the current one, instead of following the current queue rule.

Suggested solution:
Add 2 commands:

  1. “Add to top of queue”
  2. “Move to top” when i select an episode in my queue.

Holding down on the episode in the queue opens a menu that includes “Move to top.” You can also drag episodes to the top (or anywhere else).

I had “Lock queue” flag active, so the “Move to top of queue” command didn’t show up.
Thanks a lot!

The problem with tapping “Move to top” is that it moves that episode literally to the top above the one that is now playing.

So when you finish playing the current episode it goes to the next one below that effectively ignoring the one that we just moved to the top…

Or am I missing something?

Your observation is correct. If you run into this regularly (adding new items to the top while another episode is currently playing) you may wish to play episodes from the bottom of your queue instead. That way you can use “Move to bottom” and the new episode will automatically play after the episode that’s currently playing.

This is a valid solution, but a better design would be for the currently playing episode to be in an “above the queue” state such that the next episode to play is the one at the top of the queue. If a new episode is started before the active one is finished, the active one moves back to the top of the queue and the new one moves above the queue. I’ll put this in as a feature request if I can’t find it already in there.
