Unsupported feed type / still getting new episodes

I’m getting new episodes from this show but it regularly errors with “unsupported feed type”

https://www.cfpublic.org/podcast/are-we-there-yet/rss.xml

App version: 3.6.1 google play
Android version: 14
Device model: galaxy s21
Expected behaviour: unsupported sounds like cannot connect? either suppress this error, or log a more meaningful error.
Current behaviour: it is connecting and getting episodes
First occurred: unknown
Steps to reproduce: run update

The error means that AntennaPod was able to connect but the server returned a file that is not an RSS podcast feed. This usually means that the server is misconfigured, for example by showing a “confirm that you are human” page in front of their feed, which they are not supposed to do for a url that is intended to be read by machines.

Visited the feed, saw no prompt.

So the app got everything it needed, and the user got everything they asked for.

But the app raises an alert to make the user wonder whats wrong, come here and post, take up your time, and you say, okay to disregard.

Doesn’t make sense to me, but I guess it makes sense in the book of life experiences.

I added this feed and don’t have any issues. But you say it regularly gives the error, not always, right?

@ByteHamster Showing the http response header code probably wouldn’t be of any use, right? (If it’s an unsupported feed type, it sounds like it’s succeeding in retrieving something still, so would be 200)

I ran that link through a feed validator and got this:

ERROR: Your media file downloads as an attachment and won’t be compatible with all devices.”

I’d recommend reaching out to the podcast producer so they can fix the problem.

Yes, if it would be anything other than 200, we would show another message. The server successfully returns something, but what it returns is not a podcast
