I’ve been trying for a few days now to create an account on gpodder.net and keep receiving the following error:
500 - Internal server error.
The service is currently overloaded. Please try again later or contact us.
Wanted to know if there is a work around for this. Or, do people usually set up their onw private servers for syncing?

Welcome to the AntennaPod community. Indeed gpodder.net is overloaded and not actively maintained. See e.g. Problem with GPodder.net; Syncronisation via Gpodder doesn’t work; Gpodder down? and others.
AntennaPod version 2.5 (probably soon to release as beta on Google Play) will support synchronisation with gpodder-server-app-on-Nextcloud.
