Current behaviour:
Occasionally skips back about 30 seconds and continues
First occurred: (e.g. about x days/weeks ago)
2-3 weeks ago
Steps to reproduce:
No idea - it just happens
Environment: (Settings you have changed (e.g. Auto Download). “Unusual” devices you use (e.g. Bluetooth headphones). Did you select another media player?) Jabra 75t earbuds
There was one bug report of this in 2021, but no comments and just closed 3 months later
Sorry for the late response – it happens during normal play – I’ll be listening and suddenly it’s replaying the same few seconds again – it might be a less than thirty seconds.
It might happen once every hour or so of listening.
I am somewhat certain this also happens to downloaded podcasts. I regularly listen to 4-8h long episodes and it happens a handful of times per episode. And yes, as others have observed, I often miss the end of podcasts, too. Never made the connection between those two issues, but it would make sense.
Could this be a VBR issue?
Is there a GitHub issue to subscribe to be notified of any progress? I must admit, AP was my first choice after Google Podcasts went away, but if the one thing podcast app has to do (play audio) does not work reliably, I will need an alternative soon.
I am also having this issue. It happens in so many different podcasts, and this is the only app where I ever have this issue. It happens with downloaded podcasts it happens when streaming. This issue, along with the fact that sometimes podcast just have sections of them cut out, is why I’m going to stop needing to use antenna pod even though it’s The podcast app that best suits my needs in all other ways.
I’m going to be honest, it’s ridiculous that this is still an issue when it’s been reported so many times and for so long. If the devs use this app even regularly, I can’t imagine they have not also experienced this issue. It is incredibly frustrating. I was considering staying on this app, but seeing that this issue is common and has been reported and is just basically being ignored lets me know that it’s never going to get fixed so I should just switch to a different app.
This is clearly very frustrating, and many people are affected. I do wonder about the common denominator(s) because of the many people who are not affected. I, for one, experienced something like this in Google Podcasts a few times before it was discontinued, but don’t remember seeing it with AntennaPod. I would hope someone can connect the dots on the contributing factor(s).
I understand how much it must suck. Yet I am not a dev but I don’t have this issue. (I download episodes)
I think main problem hindering this issue being fixed is that there is no method to reproduce it easily or to pinpoint what make it happens.
I’m going to try to remember to track the next few times this happens and provide those podcasts with timestamps, because maybe then a dev will be able to figure it out
Though I don’t have the issue either, clearly some people do and we’d all like to get to the bottom of it. As @Matth78 mentioned there is nothing to be done until someone is willing and able to provide enough information so it can be reproduced.
